Here are some of the most important ones:

  • Volta a la Region of Valencia (February, all Region of Valencia): UCI Pro Series race with 5 stages. It covers the main roads and mountain passes of Region of Valencia and is one of the most important cycling events on the international calendar.
  • Costa Blanca Bike Race (February, the whole province of Alicante): Four-stage MTB race through the Alicante municipalities of Finestrat, Altea, Benidorm and Polop. The "Half" version has three stages. The event has accommodation and a bike friendly area with facilities adapted to the needs of the riders.
  • Mediterranean Epic (February, Castellón province): UCI 4-day MTB race, individual and in pairs, on fast and technical trails by the sea designed for gravel

  • Marcha Ciudad de València (May, province of Valencia): The first race in Europe to start and finish in a city. There are three different routes depending on the physical preparation of the participants (190km, 105km and 74km). The race crosses four mountain passes between Valencia and the Sierra Calderona Natural Park, with a total of 2,700 metres of elevation gain, on a route that passes through the best landscapes of the coastal area of the province. Beyond the Marcha, you will find the Gran Fiesta del Ciclismo de la Comunidad Valenciana, with alternative races.

  • Gran Fondo Alberto Contador (September, provinces of Valencia and Alicante): Ride through incredible landscapes with Alberto Contador, one of the best cyclists in history. Oliva is the starting point of the two routes of this 106km race with a 3000m difference in altitude, which concentrates up to 4000 cyclists. The race can also be run as a Medio Fondo, with 112km and 2000m of elevation gain.

If you are looking to train your speed, improve your pedalling technique, position on the bike and cadence, then you will be interested in the Luis Puig Velodrome Palace (Valencia).
