Valencia, City of running, football, basketball, motorcycles and much, much more

València is part of the First Division soccer teams of the Spanish League, the Valencia Club de Futbol and the Llevant Unió Esportiva. The Mestalla is the historical stadium of València CF, inaugurated in 1923 and with capacity for more than 49,000 spectators, and can be visited on guided tours. The installations of all two teams are your usual sporting training stations for professional and amateur clubs looking for professional equipment in a Mediterranean and dynamic destination like the city of Valencia

Valencia has the largest basketball training court in Europe: L'Alqueria del Basket. The centre has 15,000 metres square floor space and offers 13 basketball courts, one with a seating capacity for 500 spectators and the latest in facilities and equipment.

In Cheste, a town near Valencia, you can find the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, a truly spectacular motorcycling circuit, with seating for 65,000 and excellent visibility no matter where you are. Every November the circuit is host to the final state of the World Motorcycling Championship for the categories of MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3.

The city of Valencia also has a golf course, the Club de Golf El Saler, located in La Albufera Natural Park on the shores of the Mediterranean. Near the city are towns that are home to the Club de Golf El Bosque, which has hosted international championships, and the Club de Golf Escorpión, with a Mediterranean landscape and views of the SierraCalderonaNaturalPark.

The Marina de Valencia is one the most modern marinas in Europe. Built to house the 32 America’s Cup, if offers more than 800 berths and many water sports companies. Very close by is the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, founded in 1903, and organiser of the Trofeo SM La Reina, a sailing event that is a qualifier for the Campeonato de España, Copa de España, Regata Internacional, the Rolex Cup, and the ORC European Championship.

The Club de Tenis Valencia is the fourth oldest tennis club in Spain. It has hosted the Davis Cup on several occasions and is now home to international championships such as the BBVA Open Ciudad de Valencia Femenino and the Senior Master Cup.

Two state-of-the-art hockey fields have placed Valencia in the forefront of the best destinations for hockey and as a home to international events that bring together national teams from around the world, such as the World League.

Although running is the sport that floods Valencia with runners in more than 50 events every year, there are other essential sports events that no sports lover should ever miss.
